Cradle of Filth (Engels voor 'Wieg der Vuiligheid', dikwijls afgekort tot COF) is een metalband uit Engeland, opgericht in 1991. COF wordt door de media vaak tot het blackmetalgenre gerekend terwijl blackmetalpuristen het hier niet mee eens zijn. COF zelf heeft geen recente uitspraak gedaan over hun genre, en stelt alleen dat zij 'COF' zijn.

Begonnen als een deathmetalband in hun begindagen verwerd COF al snel tot een melodieuze blackmetalband. De thematiek van de band draait vooral om vampieren, occultisme, lust en erotiek. Hun album Damnation And A Day (2003) daarentegen was een vierdelig opus geïnspireerd door de Bijbel maar met name op Paradise Lost van John Milton waarbij het verraad van Lucifer min of meer centraal staat.
