Album Description
Available in:
part of The Genres I Never Thought I'd Get to Dabble In, If Not in Spirit series, Vol. 3: synthwave pop / contemporary R&B

I enjoy the strange merge of synthwave and R&B that has happened since the 2020s began. While synthpop was already part of that genre, bringing in contemporary rhythm & blues elements is something that has been gaining steam and I couldn't help but get in a little bit on the fun in an AI sorta way. Popularized most notably by The Weeknd and Dua Lipa but also adopted by various other artists, it has become increasingly normalized to hear some synthwave palettes with a modern alt-pop twist. Here's how it sounds to me.
