"Prince of the Poverty Line" is the fourth full-length studio album by British folk metal group Skyclad, released in 1994 on the Noise label.
It is a loose concept album about urban decay in post-Thatcherite Britain.
According to Kevin Ridley, producer and, from 1997, a full band-member, this album remains their biggest seller. Many people consider it to be the band's masterwork.
The album also saw the introduction of Cath Howell on Keyboards, Violin and Backing Vocals taking over from Fritha Jenkins who left due to the birth of her daughter .
The limited edition release included a bonus CD with three extra tracks: plus a free 7" single. The bonus tracks are,
1. Brothers Beneath the Skin (3:48)
2. The Widdershins Jig (Live) (3:33)
3. The Cradle Will Fall (Live) (6:46)
Track 1 of this bonus CD was released on the Japanese edition as track 11.
Tracks 2 & 3 are taken from the "Thinking Allowed?" EP (1993).
