Pink appeared on the episode The Ellen DeGeneres Show broadcast on February 6, 2019, and stated that "Walk Me Home" would be out in two weeks, while the album is believed to be released around April 2019. She also talked about shooting a video with Michael Gracey, the director of The Greatest Showman, and the album's release. Pink also sang a portion of the song a cappella on the program.
Pink teased the song and released a snippet on social media, followed by a release date announcement, also posted on social media. The song became available to stream on Apple Music and Spotify on February 20, 2019, and its lyric video was also released on YouTube the same day.
Live performances
After receiving the award for Outstanding Contribution to Music at the 2019 Brit Awards on the song's release date, Pink performed "Walk Me Home" in a medley. During the performance she started singing backstage in a robe as she made her way from a dressing room to the stage. Switching to a red feather cloak before descending upon center stage in an aerial hoop continuing with "Just like Fire", "Just Give Me a Reason" featuring Bastille singer Dan Smith, "Try" and concluding with "What About Us". She performed the hit single on all tour dates since the release date as part of the Beautiful Trauma World Tour in 2019. On April 22, 2019, she performed the song on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.
