Track DescriptionAvailable in:
"Shake It Off" is a song recorded by American singer-songwriter Taylor Swift for her fifth studio album, 1989 (2014). Written by Swift, Max Martin and Shellback, the single, a departure from her signature country pop musical style, is an uptempo pop track instrumented by saxophone. The song premiered during a Yahoo! live stream session on August 18, 2014; its music video was also released the same day. Several hours later, "Shake It Off" was made available for digital download as the lead single from 1989.
The music video, directed by Mark Romanek, was released on August 18, 2014 (the same day as the song's release). It was shot over three days in June 2014 in Van Nuys, California. The dances were choreographed by Tyce Diorio.
"In a departure from her country roots, Taylor Swift joins forces with Mark Romanek for this excellent tongue-in-cheek and fun promo to her single Shake It Off, from her forthcoming album 1989 (October 28). Putting in a stirling performance, Taylor raids the dressing-up box to perform with a rock band, ballerinas, cheerleaders and b-boys, sending-up video cliches in the process..."
