Track Description
Available in:
"Blow Me Away" is a song by American rock band Breaking Benjamin originally created specifically for the 2004 first-person shooter video game Halo 2. Since then the song has been released several times, including being released as a digital single in 2010. It was remixed in 2011, featuring vocals from Sydnee Duran of Valora, and released as a single once again. The remix was poorly received by most fans.

The artwork for the song's 2010 release is the band's only artwork to not feature their usual title font, as the song was originally intended as part of a soundtrack, though it does feature the Celtic knot that appears in the background on the covers of most of their releases.

The song was originally written and recorded to be included on the video game Halo 2; thus, it can be heard twice during the game: a brief excerpt of the song's intro plays on the level "Outskirts", and a slightly remixed instrumental version plays towards the end of the later level "Gravemind". It was later released for the first time on the first volume of the game's soundtrack on November 9, 2004, and again shortly afterwards on the band's So Cold EP on November 23 (as the second track on both releases). The song was released as a digital single on February 23, 2010 and included on the Zune bonus version of the band's fourth album, Dear Agony, under the title "Blow Me Away (Soundtrack Version)". The remix was released on June 7, 2011, and was also included on the band's greatest hits album, Shallow Bay: The Best of Breaking Benjamin, which was released on August 16.

The band was planning on filming a music video for the remixed version (despite being on hiatus due to frontman Ben Burnley's recurring illnesses) to be directed by Christopher Mills and produced by Geoff McLean. However, after Ben Burnley fired both Aaron Fink and Mark Klepaski from the band, the video was assumed to be cancelled. Despite this, an official animated music video for the song was released on August 17, 2011. (I was not able to find it)
