"The Centre of the Heart" is a song by Swedish duo Roxette's 2001 album Room Service. The single was only released commercially in Europe, except in the UK. It was the group's third #1 in Sweden where it remained on the top spot for 4 weeks. It also was a medium-sized hit in other European countries.
The song was originally considered as the first single from the group's Have a Nice Day album in 1999 but ultimately became an outtake.
On 23 February 2001, Roxette performed "The Centre of the Heart" at the break during the Swedish Melodifestivalen 2001.
A remix CD was released to promote the single.
The video directed by Jonas Åkerlund, was shot at The Madonna Inn in California. It is the most expensive Roxette video ever produced. Roxette are seen performing from a room inside The Madonna Inn.
