Overdue Goodbye is a very bittersweet track, to say the least. Complete with spring-like acoustics, barren drum pattern and country-ish bassline, this song is one of the more natural sounding and least produced on the record, really adopting the total impromptu jam session vibe that Anastacia practices briefly on her debut. She's surprisingly firm in her delivery, straying away from the normal wussy ballad-vulnerable girl pattern of thinking in the industry. The production, while layering her vocals almost perfectly, is a very minor misstep but is nothing to die over.
