"I Gotsta Get Paid" is a song by ZZ Top, released as the lead single from their 2012 album La Futura. The song is a cover of "25 Lighters" by Houston hip hop artist DJ DMD, featuring Fat Pat and Lil Keke.
The track was inspired by ZZ Top's collaboration with local hip hop artists while recording at John Moran’s Digital Services in Houston. Producer Rick Rubin suggested the band needed one more song for the album, leading Billy Gibbons to revisit "25 Lighters".
The song's lyrics, which include the line "25 lighters on my dresser, yessir, I gotsta get paid," reference the street drug dealer's practice of using empty Bic lighter shells to stash cocaine.
The song features a unique guitar sound achieved through a custom-built device called the Frazz, which generates a random signal to alter the guitar's EQ and amplitude.
