"Summer Means New Love" is an instrumental written by Brian Wilson for the American rock band The Beach Boys. It was originally released on June 28, 1965 on their 1965 album Summer Days (and Summer Nights!!). It was also released as the b-side to Brian Wilson's first single, "Caroline, No", but this was not until 1966. "Caroline, No" subsequently appeared on the "Pet Sounds" album.
"Summer Means New Love" was recorded over three dates, all produced, arranged and conducted by Brian Wilson. The primary instrumental track was recorded on May 12, 1965 at Capitol Records Studio with the piano and guitar were overdubbed at sessions on May 15 and June 1, 1965 respectively at Columbia Records Studio.
