Artist BiographyAvailable in:
The Doug Anthony Allstars, also known as DAAS, were an Australian musical comedy group that performed together between 1984 and 1994, and then again from 2013 to 2017. They were known for their aggressive, provocative style, involving audience members, and tackling topical and sometimes controversial issues in their comedy.
The group was originally an acoustic trio comprising Paul McDermott and Tim Ferguson on main vocals and Richard Fidler on guitar and backing vocals. In 2014, when the group reformed, Paul Livingston (aka "Flacco") replaced Fidler on guitar.
Their performances included stand-up comedy, television appearances, and music, with notable works such as "The Big Gig" and "DAAS Kapital". They began performing as buskers on the streets of Canberra in 1984 while attending university and later won the Pick of the Fringe award at the 1986 Adelaide Fringe Festival, leading them to relocate to Melbourne.
The Doug Anthony Allstars have a discography that includes one studio album, two EPs, three singles, three live albums, three video releases, and three DVD releases.
