The Treble Spankers was an Amsterdam 4-piece guitar band that was active from 1993 to 1998. Their first album titled "Araban" was released in 1994. In addition to the clearly present surfing sound, the album also recognizes musical influences of Ennio Morricone and Kraftwerk.
In 1995 the Treble Spankers signed a contract with record company Polydor. The second album 'Hasheeda' was released in 1996 and gave the song 'Red Hot Navigator'. This song is known as the starting tune of the television program Gevaar op de weg. Hasheeda contains many influences of world music.
The group had performances at Lowlands, Crossing Border, Pinkpop and the Lokerse Feesten. When guitarist Gerritsen RSI was diagnosed, a break was put in. During this period, the group fell apart. The band members have since emerged in other projects such as Jacaranda, Big Paulus, Parlandos, Ron & The Splinters, Spy-Fi, The Phantom Four and The Herb Spectacles.
