The Lurking Fear is a death metal band from Sweden founded in 2016.
H.P. Lovecraft is the main inspiration for their lyrical content.

The Lurking Fear was founded in 2016 by At the Gates musicians Tomas Lindberg (vocals) and Adrian Erlandsson (drums) and also consists of guitarists Jonas Stålhammar from The Crown, Fredrik Wallenberg from Skitsystem as well as former Edge of Sanity bassist Andreas Axelsson.

An EP named after the band was released in 2017 as a 7 "release via Moondawn Records and served as a foretaste of the debut album, which is called Out of the Voiceless Grave.
It was finally released on August 11th of the same year.
The follow up album Death, Madness, Horror, Decay was released in 2021.
