Artist Biography Available in: Lars Vogt (Düren, September 8, 1970) is a German pianist and conductor.
Vogt studied at the Hochschule für Musik in Hanover with Karl-Heinz Kämmerling. He rose to fame in 1990 after winning second prize at the Leeds International Piano Competition. Since then, he continues to give the repertoire of great concertos and recitals. In 1998 he founded the Spannungen festival in Heimbach (Eifel).
In May 2014, the Royal Northern Sinfonia announced his appointment, as the new Music Director from 2015. Vogt serves as Music Director for the 2014-2015 season, in his first official position as conductor.
In 2004, Vogt received both the Brahms Prize and the Echo Klassik. He won the Großer Kulturpreis der rheinischen Sparkassen in 2006.
Lars Vogt took on the duties of Musical Director of the Orchester de chambre de Paris as of July 1, 2020.
