Big Boy Bloater is a guitarist, singer, songwriter, radio presenter and artist of the highest level. His interpretation of roots and R & B has impressed many people of the genre, from big names in blues and roots to modern aficionados. He is regularly asked to play guitar for R & B legends, roots and blues and he takes his own band - the Limits - on tours around the globe, working as his own One Man Show and becoming special guest.
Bloater has performed in numerous festivals throughout the United States and Europe, including Latitude, Secret Garden Party, Hop Farm Festival, BluesFest, Great British R & B Festival, Burnley Blues, Viva Las Vegas and more . His shows are always impressive, energetic and fun, without losing any musical integrity. His optimistic songs belie their dark lyrics and complex arrangements. His voice has been compared to Howlin 'Wolf's cross with Tom Waits - indeed, he was voted # 87 in the top 100 best blues voices of all time by readers and editors of Blues Magazine in 2016.
He was the former presenter of The Blues Magazine Show on Team Rock Radio (unfortunately no longer) and also compiled and presented a 3-hour BB King special for KLM Airline, as well as the presentation of the radio documentary "Twentieth Century Blues".
Bloater played for many icons of music and played guitar behind Imelda May and Paloma Faith, as well as Sir Paul McCartney to record with him at Abbey Road. He was interviewed and played sessions on many radio shows.
