Comfort and seduction are two notions that are usually at odds. But they come together in harmony when singer-songwriter Alexis Normand steps on stage. Whether performing in English or French, she can beguile with a sultry, soulful vocal delivery in one song, or take you to a warm, safe shelter from a raging prairie storm in the next. Her music is jazz-infused folk that brings these two disparate elements into balance.

Normand and her debut album Mirador were nominated for a Canadian Folk Music Award and a Western Canadian Music Award. She has also been shortlisted for a Lieutenant Governor’s Award in the emerging artist category. She showcases her versatility by also being a member of the sassy vintage-inspired vocal quartet, Rosie and the Riveters. The single off their debut album, ‘Ain’t Gonna Bother’ peaked at #5 on the CBC Radio 2 Top 20 as well as #9 on Earshot Magazine’s Folk & Roots chart. Normand is a multi-instrumentalist who plays guitar and piano, accompanying her beautiful, charming voice.
