Melanie Wilhelm (born Juli 18, 1977 in Berlin, Germany), better known by her stage name Melbeatz, is a German Hip-Hop producer, DJ, songwriter. As one of the few female producers in the german speaking Hip-Hop scene, she's also called "Queen of Beats".

It all began in 1996 when Melbeatz got her first MPC as a gift from her longtime friend/ partner and Germany’s most celebrated Hip Hop Artist Kool Savas. From that day on she was hooked. Her curiosity and her passion for music made her kneel down into the material and her talent no longer remained a secret to the German Hip Hip crowd. One year later she already put out some of her first beats on Tapes & Samplers and gained more and more musical knowledge and experience. Being called „Queen of Beats“ by her fans, Melbeatz is the only woman in German-speaking countries that is able to convince with her outstanding and unique beats, professional productions and her own characteristic sound. Her beats were the starting point for numerous hits and remarkable prosperities in the German Single- and LP- Charts. Many years she was voted „Best and most successful Producer“ by the readers of Europe’s biggest Hip Hop magazine JUICE and also snatched the title away from her male competitors at the HipHop.de Awards, an Award created by Germany’s most important Online Rap Magazine. Her growing success was also acknowledged with a nomination at the MTV Europe Music Awards in the category „Best German Act“. She united the creme de la creme of the German and American Hip Hop market for her debut album „Rapper’s Delight“, which immediately entered the Charts and left everything that has been to this date in her shadow. Not only the best and most successful rappers and singers from her native country but also superstars like Kanye West, legends like Mobb Deep and Ol’ Dirty Bastard and underground jewels like Thirstin Howl, Tha Alkaholiks and Graph represented on her organic and independent soundcarpet. With her productions for the most successful mixtape ever in Germany, she caught the attention of Artists like Lil Flip, for which she produced several tracks. Now in 2010, Melbeatz is at the height of her career.
