Artist BiographyAvailable in:
"The Assembly" were an experimental band founded by Vince Clarke (Depeche Mode, Yazoo, Erasure) and Eric C. Radcliffe (producer of Yazoo and Depeche Mode) in London, UK following the split of Yazoo in mid-1983. The idea was to get a new singer for each track, but only one single was made; 'Never Never' featuring former Undertones-frontman Feargal Sharkey. The single reached number 2 on the UK charts in late 1983. An album was initially recorded in 1984 but never released. Vince Clarke went on to form Erasure with singer Andy Bell in 1985. as the front man this time, along with his brother and keyboardist Nathan Suh. Drummer Mike Zuffante and bassist Gary Gustovich round out this fresh new band from Chicago.
