"Aftershok" a heavy metal band from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania were founded in 1996 by former Shok Paris and Banger singer Vic Hix and guitarist George Mihalovich. Bass player Nick Griska (ex-Nightstalker, Banger, Shockwave) entered the fold in late 1999. The band, having inducted drummer George Borden, debuted live on October 29th 2000 guesting for Tension (USA) at the Attic venue in Barnesville, Ohio. Later gigs included a landmark show with Breaker (USA) at the Cleveland Odeon Club at which a sampler CD, featuring recordings of "War Machine" and "Armed and Dangerous", were distributed to fans.
Aftershok supported such heavyweights as Lizzy Borden, Doro, Britny Fox, Yngwie J. Malmsteen, Nevermore and Savatage. A self-financed album was geared up for release in late 2001, "Unfinished Business" finally emerging the following year. The group's profile on the Pittsburgh live circuit rose higher in 2003, with opening slots to Iron Maiden, Dio, Motörhead, Skid Row and Judas Priest.
Guitarist George Mihalovich joined the ranks of Shok Paris for a 2004 appearance at the German "Bang Your Head" festival.
