Summoning ist eine österreichische Black Metal Band aus Wien . Seit ihrer Gründung im Jahr 1993 haben sie acht Alben und zwei EPs auf Napalm Records veröffentlicht . Ihre Texte machen ausgiebig Gebrauch von JRR Tolkien ‚s Mittelerde Schriften und Mythologie. Seit 1995 besteht die Besetzung aus Silenius und Protector. Die Band hat noch nie live gespielt und immer wieder behauptet, dass sie kein Interesse daran haben, dies jemals zu tun. Ihr letztes Album "With Doom We Come" wurde am 5. Januar 2018 veröffentlicht.
