50セントというMCネームは、1980年代にニューヨークのブルックリン界隈で30人あまりを殺害し、たった50セントでさえも奪ったとされる実在のギャング、ケルビン “50セント” マーティン（Kelvin "50 Cent" Martin）に由来する。
