808 State es un grupo de música electrónica inglés, formado en 1987 en Manchester, tomando su nombre de la caja de ritmos Roland TR-808. Fueron formados por Graham Massey, Martin Price y Gerald Simpson, y lanzaron su álbum debut, Newbuild, en septiembre de 1988.

La banda consiguió el éxito comercial en 1989, cuando su canción "Pacific State" fue elegida por el DJ de BBC Radio 1, Gary Davies.
