Bonnie Tyler (* 8. Juni 1951 als Gaynor Hopkins in Skewen, Neath, County of Swansea, Wales, Vereinigtes Königreich) ist eine walisische Pop- und Rocksängerin. In den 1980er Jahren wurde sie durch Hits wie Total Eclipse of the Heart und Holding Out for a Hero weltweit bekannt. Tyler wurde 1984 für drei Grammy Awards nominiert, 1984 und 1986 zweimal für den Brit Award.

Am 18. Mai 2013 vertrat Tyler mit ihrer Single Believe in Me das Vereinigte Königreich beim Eurovision Song Contest 2013. Ihr Album Rocks & Honey erschien am 8. März 2013.

Tyler wuchs in einer typisch walisischen Arbeiterfamilie mit fünf Geschwistern auf. Ihr Vater war Bergarbeiter, die Mutter, ein Opernfan, teilte die Liebe zur Musik mit ihren Kindern. In ihrer Jugend sang Bonnie Tyler in einer Gruppe namens „Bobby Wayne and the Dixies“, gründete dann eine eigene Band und nannte sie „Imagination“. Nahezu ein Jahrzehnt lang trat sie mit ihrer Band in Kneipen und Nachtclubs in Südwales auf.
