WELTSCHMERZ's Khamsin is a living, breathing symphony of sound and atmosphere, captivating as it swallows you whole, landing in an overworld filled with mystery and a purpose to find your way and to find yourself.
From the start, you awaken, easing into a new world painted with soothing drones, otherworldly pads, and natural synthetics. As you forge on and traverse the horizon, the landscape shifts as you find those earthy swells and echoes evolving into visions of industrial city streets bathed in black neon and a growing urgency with stark, booming drums that seem to almost push you forward into the night.
A moment's respite as you take shelter in a rained-out alley, washed-out memories form a past almost out of recall's reach. Of a time of simplicity and innocence when the world wasn't so cold and despondent. The inner peace you regain from resting gives you the courage to carry onward into the unknown.
The streets make way for a path out of the darkness and into the dimly lit light at the end of the tunnel. You lean into a full synthwave excursion as you near the edge of the end, 16-bit saw waves cut through the night and lead you out of the cement-laden scenery and into a final resting place. Soft pianos and solemn sweeps bring a welcomed calm to it all.
A feeling of closure.
Was it all a dream?
Was it not what it seemed?
What is real and what is fabricated no longer matter.
All that matters is that you finally feel free.
