The producer duo of Q-Mark and TpZee released their debut EP Umlilo in 2021, from which came the megahit Afriikan Papi collab, “Paris”. A year later, the trio team up for a full-length project packed with more collaborative summertime soundtracks. Afriikan Papi’s vocals, rooted in R&B and Afro-pop, inject meaning into Q-Mark and TpZee’s diverse production. “Asphelelanga” is an emotive roll call of South African music and entertainment stars who have passed on over the years, while “Bonga” is a thank you note to their spiritual guides for carrying them through.
