User Album Review
A celebration of their two decades in existence as the seminal home for grindcore and thrash, Metal: A Headbanger's Companion boasts six discs' worth of gruesome Earache nuggets for the price of a single new release. These aren't bodice-ripping fantasy jams or regurgitated blues riffs transposed to a minor key for dramatic effect -- these are impenetrable anthems of brutality that most people can only ingest in small doses. The prospect of nearly seven hours of Carcass, Napalm Death, Godflesh, and Bolt Thrower jams draws a certain type of listener, but for the price, it's worth taking a chance on for anybody with even the slightest interest in oblivion.
