"Rave In2 The Joy Fantastic" ist ein Remixalbum von Prince, das am 30. April 2001 bei seinem eigenen Label NPG Records veröffentlicht wurde, und nur den Premium Membern seiner damaligen Homepage NPG Music Club zugeschickt wurde. Später konnte man das Album auf der Webseite käuflich erwerben. Es enthält 14 Songs, seine Laufzeit beträgt 64 Minuten und 9 Sekunden. Das Albumcover gestaltete der Fotograf und Art Director Steve Parke.
Bei neun der 14 Songs auf "Rave In2 The Joy Fantastic" handelt es sich um Remixe oder verlängerte Versionen von Songs des Albums "Rave Un2 The Joy Fantastic", das am 2. November 1999 und damit 18 Monate vorher veröffentlicht wurde. Fünf der 14 Songs sind auf beiden Alben in identischer Fassung zu finden. "Beautiful Strange" ist der einzig neue Song auf "Rave In2 The Joy Fantastic".
Wie auf dem Ursprungsalbum wirken auf dem Remixalbum unter anderem Gwen Stefani, Eve und Sheryl Crow als Gastsängerinnen mit. Ebenso wie auf dem Ursprungsalbum ist der letzte Song des Albums, die verlängerte Version von "Prettyman" ein Hidden Track und auf dem Backcover nicht gelistet.
Die Albumaufnahmen fanden 1999 und 2000 in New York, Burbank und den Paisley Park Studios in Chanhassen statt. Das Album konnte sich nicht in den internationalen Musikcharts platzieren.

The remix album to Rave Un2 The Joy Fantastic Rave In2 The Joy Fantastic is, for all intents and purposes, Prince’s preferred configuration for the commercial album, since this version is superior, as would have been its prospects. Some tracks are axed and the survivors tweaked in this improvement to Rave Un2. It came as a surprise to fans that the existence of Rave In2 The Joy Fantastic was, announced by all people by Prince’s lawyer (L. Londell McMillan) and, sadly a limited release available only to fan club subscribers. The tracklist boasted also the fans’ pick a new insertion Beautiful Strange. Songs that are improved on Rave In2 The Joy Fantastic are The Greatest Romance Ever Sold, Hot Wit U, Man O’ War and Prettyman. This album is cherished by those who own it and explains why it is so hard to obtain by those who seek it.
