User Album Review
Following the great success of the single All Night- a collaboration with the Norwegian EDM producer, Matoma- The Vamps released their third studio album. Night & Day continues with a strong injection of electronic dance throughout, working with Danish DJ Martin Jensen on Middle of the Night and Swedish DJ Mike Perry on Hands which features the vocals of pop up and comer, Sabrina Carpenter. They got some big names involved in this release which pushes a perfectly punchy pop sound. To be honest I was pleasantly surprised by this release because I sort of pinned The Vamps down as another run of the mill boy band, but they have a bit more to offer.
The Vamps capture the quintessence of youth in 2017 from the emotional ups and downs, girlfriends, crushes, unrequited love, break-ups, hook ups, exes, sex, partying and feeling damn good as in the funk inspired track Shades On (a personal favourite). These boys have a knack for infectious tunes that get you shaking what your mama gave ya. Their music translates well as a recording and would be surefire success live as they work the booming festival circuits around the world. It’s a well paced album that offers enough variety in style to keep it interesting from start to finish. It is certainly the album of the now!
