Lewis Capaldi has finally released his heart-breaking debut EP, Bloom.
From the first note of his latest single, “Fade,” you are hooked by his remarkable and unique voice, and it stays that way throughout the four-track EP.
His debut smash, “Bruises,” a track he written less than a year ago, still shines amongst the bigger productions with simple piano-led chords that allow his voice to captivate us even further.
Then there’s the previously unheard track, “Mercy,” a track that stands out for leading with a guitar backing rather than a piano, giving the song a more upbeat nature, even if the lyrics don’t mate that tempo; “It hurts to see you’re alright when I’m not alright…Have mercy on me, you’re breaking my heart.”
Capaldi’s incredible songwriting and voice have the similar effect that Adele songs have; making you miss someone you walked past in the street – but seriously, if you’ve ever been in a relationship, after hearing this you’ll be missing you ex (who’s obviously awful for not being with you awesome self right now (should become some sort of Agony Aunt)).
Capaldi is already making waves, but we see superstar levels of fame on the horizon for this Scottish lad!
