„Picture Perfect“ ist das vierte Studioalbum der US-amerikanischen Alternative-Rock- und Post-Grunge-Band 12 Stones, das am 14. Juli 2017 über das Independent-Label Cleopatra Records veröffentlicht wurde und den ersten Release der Band seit fünf Jahren markierte. Produziert wurde das Album von Dave Fortman, der bereits mit Bands wie Evanescence und Slipknot gearbeitet hatte. „Picture Perfect“ präsentiert einen gereiften Sound, der emotionale Melodien mit kraftvollen, gitarrengetriebenen Arrangements verbindet. Songs wie „Picture Perfect“, „Blessing“ und „Nothing to Say“ stehen exemplarisch für die Mischung aus härteren Alternative-Rock-Elementen und melodischen, radiofreundlichen Hooks, für die die Band bekannt ist. Sänger Paul McCoy überzeugt erneut durch seine emotionale und kraftvolle Stimmführung, während die Produktion den Songs eine klare und druckvolle Note verleiht. Kritiker lobten das Album für seine eingängige, aber dennoch authentische Ausrichtung, bemerkten jedoch, dass es wenig Überraschendes im Vergleich zu früheren Alben bietet. Dennoch bestätigt „Picture Perfect“ die konstante Qualität und Stärke von 12 Stones im Genre des melodischen Post-Grunge und Alternative Rock.

What 12 Stones have created is a catalogue of mixed and different songs, giving their band an album rich in texture while beaming a vibrancy that is inspiring. Each track has its own character and that diversity gives it a broad appeal, makes them hard to pigeonhole, yet they still sound united as well as cohesive. Most importantly, the songs reveal the vocal range of McCoy, displaying his ability to switch styles, and the power behind the songwriting shines through. An album certainly worth the wait for, CrypticRock gives Picture Perfect 4.5 out of 5 stars.
