Their first new release in six years and it's a complete beauty. Even more hushed, meditative, and calm than 1986's pastoral and understated The Good Earth, this is the sound of The Feelies aging more than gracefully. Simply put, like Here Before, this takes its place in their flawless discography as yet another gem. Even more Velvet Underground-influenced than usual, parts of this sound like they mainlined that band's also often quiet and understated self-titled, third album and never looked back. They do let loose on "Gone, Gone Gone" and the almost 10-minute reprise of the title track that closes out the album, adding a nice balance to the proceedings here with Glenn Mercer's guitar firing off shards of drone-ish feedback sure to please many old fans.
