Album DescriptionAvailable in:
Hi-Fidelity Dub Sessions is a series of dub collections compiled and released by Guidance Records, a Chicago-based label most often associated with deep house rather than this sort of music. Of course, these collections don't compile classic Jamaican dub recordings from the '70s but rather more contemporary dub tracks, most of them produced by European artists such as Richard Dorfmeister, who happens to be one of the more renowned Euro-dub artists on this collection. Most of the tracks on this particular volume were released in either 2000 or 2001, with the most glaring exception being Cotton Belly's album-opening "Tempest Dub," an influential dub track from 1994 released by Edge Test Records. Some of the other highlights of this collection include Tosca's "Annanas," Nick Holder's "Moments in Dub," and DJ Krush's "On the Dubble."
