'Hub City Kid is the only studio album by Dave LaRue released under his own name.

Different from other albums he performed on, this album has no heavy fusion sound, but it is much more a combination of punchy bass grooves, catchy melodies, and stellar playing. Some of the songs feature his slap-funk technique; others are much more toned down, and mellow.
