"Rise" is the fourth full length studio album from American singer/songwriter Kim Richey, released October 1, 2002 on the Lost Highway Records label. kim wrote about the album "I recorded “Rise” with Bill Bottrell in his studio up in Mendocino. A lot of these songs were written while I was there recording with Bill and Brian and Birdie, who played on the record. Writing with a band was a first for me. One of my favorite songs, “A Place Called Home”, is on this record. I remember it was a first-taker and I got so caught up in the song that I almost blew it by getting choked up. This is one of my most favorite records".
