Gothic folk singer Marissa Nadler returns with her seventh studio album. This record is a move away from the autobiographical style Nadler is known for, instead being sung from the perspective of several characters that inhabit a post-apocalyptic environment. Randall-Dunn (Sun O))), Black Mountain) produced the heavily layered, synth-laden sound on the record, including lead single "Janie in Love." The record has been heralded by the press as "a career high" for Nadl
