Album Description
Available in:
A decent but somewhat sketchy summary of Shalamar's best moments, this compilation from the U.K. label Castle includes 14 cuts and often favors single edits over album and 12" versions to save space. Big hits like "The Second Time Around," "A Night to Remember," "Make That Move," "Dancing in the Sheets," and "Take That to the Bank" are all present, but some lower-performing singles from the group's later days are often included instead of more-deserving singles and strong album cuts. Since there are many Shalamar compilations available, it's tough for non-freaks to differentiate one from another, and this one falls into that pile. This should be fine for those who just want the bona fide smashes, but there are quite a few significant tracks that failed to make the cut.
