Starpoint could have been top shelf if Elektra and management knew what they had. By this point the band was secondary, the producer was putting himself before the band and took the personality of this wonderful group away. It did not help that Renee's MS has really started to get bad. She was a wonderful performer and could make each audience member in a 20,000 seat arena feel like she was singing just to them.
Renee had a great impact on a young Toni Braxton (another Maryland singer) as well as many other vocal talents. Renee's voice and inspiration will live through many artists for years to come.
