"The Great Pretenders" is the secomd full length studio album by Los Angeles band Mini Mansions. It was released in the UK through Fiction Records on March 23, 2015 and in the US through Capitol Records and the Electromagnetic Recordings label.
The Great Pretenders ambitiously reflects the depth, variety, and musical/compositional interplay between these three distinct individuals. It’s also probably the only record you’ll hear this year that features both Beach Boys Brian Wilson and Arctic Monkeys’ Alex Turner as guests – indeed, its entire song cycle teems with that kind of surprising discovery.
"The Great Pretenders" received high critical acclaim. The album enjoys a Metacritic rating of 85, indicating "universal acclaim."
