"The Blade" is the third full length studio album by American country music artist Ashley Monroe, released on July 24, 2015, through Warner Bros. Nashville. The album was produced by Vince Gill and Justin Niebank and includes the lead single "On to Something Good."
The Blade received acclaim from music critics. At Metacritic, which assigns a "weighted average" rating out of 100 from selected independent ratings and reviews from mainstream critics, the album received a Metascore of 87/100, based on 12 reviews, indicating "universal acclaim."
The Blade debuted at No. 30 on the US Billboard 200 chart and No. 2 on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart with 12,000 pure album sales during its first week of release. The album has sold 24,600 copies in the US as of September 2015.
