"Steel City Trawler" is the fourth full length studio album by Canadian singer-songwriter Luke Doucet, released August 31, 2010 on the Six Shooter Records label. The album was named as a longlisted nominee for the 2011 Polaris Music Prize.
Steel City Trawler, comes from the heart of the post-industrial landscape and mindset,where traces of rock eras past and present align with Doucet's signature chops.The album is a finely balanced mix of clever turns of phrase, chords and moods, irreverent bouncy rockers and tender, spacious ballads. Produced by Andrew Scott (Sloan), it features The Ballad of Ian Curtis, an homage for the late great Joy Division frontman.
