On August 6, 2014, it was revealed that the group would be returning with a new album the following month, with their label later confirming a mid-September release date. The title track, "Sugar Free", is an electronic dance music (EDM)-inspired song of the big room genre and was produced by Shinsadong Tiger, who had worked with the group on previous releases including "Roly-Poly", "Lovey-Dovey", and "Number 9", and Beom & Nang.

After Jiyeon and Hyomin of T-ara finished their solo activities the members united for their comeback. T-ara released their sixth mini album “And & End” with a new but, still familiar style in sound. Composers and writers such as S.Tiger, Beomi Nangi and Double Sidekick were a few who helped to put together this album. The album contains seven songs depending on which album version is selected.
The first track “Sugar Free (BigRoom Ver.)” is featured only on the digital album version. While the lead track “Sugar Free” comes included on both album versions. Both songs have an addictive chorus and a highly energetic EDM sound. Still, the BigRoom version has a slight change in the beginning of the song.
On the other hand “I Don’t Want You” has a light melody and catchy chorus. This song feels very cute but, it’s not over the top cute at all. T-ara show off a more adorable and loveable sound with this song.
“ORGR” which is short for Oh Ready Go Ready, has a nice fusion of digital-electric dance sounds. The shift between an upbeat tempo to mid-tempo is well balanced. Towards the end it has a playful breakdown which makes me wish this song was a bit longer.
The members turn to a bit more sentimental tune with “Last Calendar.” The piano and chime sounds at the beginning trigger a heartfelt feeling. Their voices as well are clear and gentle while they sing which makes it a woeful ballad. But it feels a bit boring and weak for me.
Once “If I see her” starts the solid piano stands out really nicely. It has a cool sound but, by the sound of the members voices it seems to have a sad hindering feeling. Though the sharp piano and short rap make it’s takes the focus off that notion.
Without a doubt T-ara has a funky and unique sound of their own. “And & End” used mostly dance and EDM sounds than any other genre which T-ara is most recognized for. Therefore, this mini album will have anyone dancing their pants off because of the high and upbeat dance tracks. The group worked well on “And & End” though it felt like something was lacking. However,I still like the album and look forward for their next one.
