Album Description Available in: Exogamy had limited commercial response, seeing no chart action until a year after its release. The album received critical acclaim from Billboard's Chuck Taylor, and AllMusic's Ned Raggett. Both reviewers focused on Exogamy's unique sound. In November 2008, Reverend Charisma, which told the story of the 1978 People's Temple murder-suicides, was released. It was followed by Black Sundress, which reached No. 9 on the top mp3 downloads at Amazon.com, the following spring. Exogamy eventually peaked at No. 8 on the Out-voice GLBT Top 40 chart in May 2009.
