Album DescriptionAvailable in:
"Nothing but a Burning Light" is the sixteenth full-length studio album by Canadian singer/songwriter Bruce Cockburn. The album was the first US release for Columbia in 1991.
Coming as it does after Big Circumstance it is similar in style, some social, some personal songs. The album was produced in Los Angeles by T-Bone Burnett and benefits from some help from Jackson Browne, Jim Keltner, Larry Klein, and Booker T. Jones. The social and political issues he deals with are closer to home and the whole album more relevant and meaningful than Big Circumstance. Dream Like Mine, Soul Of A Man (a rare but well-chosen inclusion of a Blind Willie Johnson song), One Of The Best Ones, and Cry Of A Tiny Babe are highlights.
