"Irrational Anthems" is the sixth full-length album by prolific British Folk metal band Skyclad, released in 1996 .It was the first album released on the Massacre Records label.
During the previous twelve months Keith Baxter had announced his departure from the band, then within a few weeks of this a further announcement was made by guitarist Dave Pugh that he was also leaving .
Renowned session player from the North East of England, drummer Paul Smith, took over duties in the studio with Steve handling all the guitar parts again.
Irrational Anthems became their bestselling album to date and saw them enter the German album charts.
It was released as a digipak and standard CD release.
