"The Wayward Sons of Mother Earth" Released in 1991 on the Noise label is the debut album by British folk metal group Skyclad, and is regarded as one of the first folk metal albums, with the track "The Widdershins Jig" in particular pointing the way for the genre.
Considered to be one of the heaviest Skyclad albums with mainly heavy metal and occasionally thrash metal tracks, it features some scarce folk moments, and one folk metal song.
