The songs on this album, Beginnings: 1989-1990, are just what the title indicates: the beginnings -- tunes that were recorded between late 1989 and early 1990. These tunes were really only intended to be used as demos to help draw attention to a young and struggling singer who who would become hot as fresh-cooked griddle cakes, country diva Shania Twain. These 12 remastered and remixed songs are more rock, power pop, and adult contemporary than country, fitting into the late '80s just as they should have when they were done. Many of the numbers on this 1999 album were written by both Paul Sabu and the young Twain.
