Album Description
Available in:
Writing, arranging, and programming nearly every track himself, Euge set out to create his most personal statement yet as an artist. The new 10-song set, recorded entirely in hi-definition, features 8 original instrumentals, a writing & performance collaboration from Jeffery Osborne, and a jaw-dropping vocal performance from Ali Ollie Woodson on a neo-soul'd cover of Donny Hathaway's I Love You More Than You'll Ever Know. The CD opens with the laid-back, playful A Summer Night's Dream, reminiscent of Euge's first big instrumental hit, Romeo & Juliet, with his trademark texturing and gentle soprano lead voice. The saxman hooks into a deeply soulful approach on the vibrant, funky Mr. Groove, which flows into the vivid image of an Italian piazza on the wistfully haunting Caf‚ del Soul. The simmering, sensual fire of Slow Jam features some of the collection's most expressive playing and improvisations. The title track keeps that searing, just-about-to-blow energy going with a true ensemble jam featuring touches of retro-soul ambience via wah-wah guitar clicks and Fender Rhodes & Wurlitzer keyboard stylings
