Album DescriptionAvailable in:
Kool And The Gang's long run as a recreated pop act in the '80s formally ended with this release of this late '80s anthology. It contained all the smooth pop winners sung by J.T. Taylor, who had already made his exit. It demonstrated how smooth, slick, yet also engaging a lead singer he'd been, and how the efforts of such producers as Deodato had successfully turned Kool And The Gang into superstars by erasing the funk beats, making the arrangements mellow and subdued, and also providing catchy, hook-filled songs like "Celebration" and "Ladies Night." ~ Ron Wynn Additional personnel includes: Kurtis Blow (rap vocals).
