The Best of Van Morrison is a compilation album by Northern Irish singer-songwriter Van Morrison, released in 1990.
This was Morrison's first "Best of" album with songs that were pulled from 25 years of material. It was one of the best-selling albums of the 90s, spending a year and a half on the UK charts. In the U.S., The Best of became an album of longevity. It stayed on the charts for more than 4½ years without ever making the top 40. In 2002, the album was certified 4x Platinum by the RIAA. With the combined success of this album and the previous album, Avalon Sunset, Morrison was once again in the pop/rock mainstream after a decade. One of the songs, "Wonderful Remark", had previously only been available on the soundtrack of the film, The King of Comedy.
