Album DescriptionAvailable in:
These recordings represent Luther Allison's first all-acoustic recordings and were recorded in Luther's Paris apartment. Ruf Records exposed more facets of the multifaceted legend that is Luther Allison with these recordings. These intimate encounters with Luther, his guitar, and more or less random friends are true rarities in the totality of his life's work
Luther's full sounding acoustic guitar style, and his down to earth, unamplified voice make these recordings a true listening pleasure. On all songs except "You're The One," Luther is accompanied on acoustic bass by Zox, the bassist in his European touring band. Euro guitarist Patrick Verbeke contributes on steel and 12-string guitar respectively on "You're The One" and "Castle". Luther's son, Bernard Allison, provides slide guitar and background vocals on "Meet Me In My Own Hometown," with harmonica on this song played by Thierry Menesclou.
